Connect the numeral 3 with three objects
This sheet combines tracing, independent numeral writing, a ten-frame and a drawing activity to connect the written symbol with a quantity.
- Trace the numeral using the model on the page.
- Try writing 3 independently.
- Place or draw three counters in the ten-frame.
- Draw three familiar objects and count each one once.
Try this example
Draw three apples. Point to each apple as you say “one, two, three”, then write 3 beside the collection.
If your child counts an object twice, move each counter as it is counted. Keep the focus on understanding three as well as forming the numeral.
