How to use a weekly star reward chart
This free A4 reward chart has five blank goal rows and seven day columns, from Monday to Sunday. Write in your own goals and colour the printed stars; stickers are optional.
- Choose one achievable action together to start with. Leave unused goal rows blank.
- Write a goal that you can recognise, such as putting a reading book in the school bag.
- Colour the star in that day’s box when the agreed action is completed.
- Review the week together and agree the next small step. Use the reward space for an activity your child enjoys.
Try this example
Example goal: “Put my reading book in my bag after reading.” Colour Monday’s star after packing it. An example reward is choosing a game to play together after three completed days.
A missed day can stay blank. Set a fresh opportunity for tomorrow and recognise the effort made; the chart does not need to be perfect.
