How to fill in the weekly reading log
Use one row for each day to record a book title, pages read, time spent and a parent signature. The log is a record of reading, not a target to finish a book every day.
- Write the book title in the row for today.
- Record the pages or section you read together.
- Add the time spent and sign the entry where requested.
- Talk about one event, character or new word before putting the book away.
Try this example
Example entry: Monday | My library book | pages 4–9 | 10 minutes | parent signature. If school asks for a separate comment, try: “Retold the main event independently; needed help with two new words.”
Use your school’s own diary if it is required. This PDF has no dedicated comments column, so longer comments can go on the reverse or in the school diary.
